Cable Ladder and Cable Tray Checklist

  1. Check ladder / tray route is in accordance with design drawings.
  2. Check ladder racks / tray supports and clamps are in accordance with design drawings.
  3. Confirm Rack / Tray correctly identified.
  4. Check ladder / tray material meets the specification.
  5. Confirm no nuts or bolts are missing.
  6. Confirm all rough edges and burrs removed.
  7. Check ladder / tray is not a hazard to personnel / block access ways or prevent removal of equipment.
  8. Check bonding / earthing of rack conforms to specification.
  9. Cable ladder nodal ID number is fitted.
  10. Confirm separation maintained between rack systems.
  11. Confirm rack to transit alignment correct.
  12. Check insulation spacers are fitted between rack and steel supports, as per project specification.
  13. Confirm “kick plates” are installed when passing through floors / gratings.
  14. Rack / Tray ready for cable pulling.
  15. Installation drawings have been “Red Lined” as per the Project Completions Procedure.
