- Confirm vendor in attendance prior to commencing this checksheet.
- Confirm nameplate / labelling / warning signs and ID Tags are correct.
- Confirm rotation plate fitted.
- Direction of rotation looking on drive end. ( CW / CCW )
- Confirm that there is no mechanical damage and paintwork is good.
- Check bearing lubrication and confirm that there is no oil leakage from bearings or pipework.
- Confirm with mechanical discipline all alternator drains are installed and open.
- Confirm terminal boxes and glanding correct.
- Confirm earthing is correct and connections tight.
- Confirm holding down bolts fitted correctly.
- Confirm free rotation of shaft with machine uncoupled.
- Check protection of live parts are installed and complete.
- Where fitted, perform visual inspection of:
- Winding temperature detector connections.
- Air temperature detectors and connections.
- Water temperature indicators and connections.
- Bearing temperature indicators and connections.
- Vibration monitors and connections.
- Condensation detector and connections.
- Indicating instruments (Rogowski coils, CT and surge arrestor) and connections.
- Confirm Stator winding connection (Star / Delta)
- Confirm coupling guards are fitted.
- Check that no damage sustained to gaskets and all gaskets are in place.
- Confirm preservation has been performed as per specification.
- Installation drawings have been “Red Lined” as per the Project Completions Procedure.
