- Check name plate, labelling, ID tags and warning signs correct to drawings / data sheets and rotation plate fitted.
- No mechanical damage and no oil leakage.
- Cable termination, route condition, terminal box and glanding correct.
- Holding down bolts fitted correctly.
- Confirm Rogowski coils/CT/surge arrestors are installed and connected correctly.
- Without dismantling of motor check oil rings, oil levels, grease packing and bearings.
- Check free rotation with driven equipment uncoupled.
- Where fitted, perform visual inspection of:
- Winding temperature detector connections.
- Air temperature detectors and connections.
- Bearing temperature indicators and connections.
- Vibration monitors and connections.
- Condensation detector and connections.
- Check that motor is correctly earthed. Record Motor to earth continuity. (______________Ω)
- Inspect stator winding connection. (Star or Delta)
- Check terminal boxes/seals and terminals for damage and moisture ingress.
- Motor Heater resistance. (______________Ω)
- Motor Heater IR. (______________MΩ)
- Motor Winding resistance. (______________Ω)
- Motor Winding IR. (______________MΩ)
- Thermistor or RTD IR. (______________MΩ)
- Bearing IR. (______________MΩ)
- Personnel protection i.e. coupling guards are installed.
- Confirm heaters correctly installed, measure & record insulation resistance. (______________ MΩ)
- Warning signs correctly installed and visible.
- Installation drawings have been “Red Lined” as per the Project Completions Procedure.
