- Correct cable type as per electrical cable schedule and drawings.
- Confirm cable and core markers are correct at each end, and at transits (if applicable).
- Ensure there is no visible damage and clamping/cleating cable support correct as per project specification.
- Bending radius and stretch prevention according to specification and no stress on gland.
- Cable glands are the correct type and size as per cable schedule and installed according to specification.
- Confirm earth bonding is correct to design specification.
- Ensure gland plates for single core cables are non-magnetic.
- Ensure single core power cables installed in fault rated trefoil cleats.
- Ensure mechanical cable protection correct.
- Ensure the correct size of crimped connector has been used.
- Check terminations and earth connections are tight and correct.
- Check that phase identification is correct.
- Ensure torqueing of split, bolted connections correct. Check after insulation resistance (IR) and pressure test.
- HV cable kits correctly installed, stress relieved and earthed.
- Confirm continuity on all cores and screens.
- Carry out IR and High Voltage Pressure Test as per manufacturer’s specifications on all cores and record results.
- Reconnect cable cores and confirm correct terminations and phase rotation.
- Record torque settings and bolt size.
- Gland body to earth path resistance (Max 0.1Ω). (__________Ω)
- Confirm protective measures (i.e. kick plates) are fitted correctly.
- Replace covers and check all bolts are correct and none missing.
- Installation drawings have been “Red Lined” as per the project completions procedure.
