Lighting, Small Power and Welding Socket Outlets Installation Checklist

LIGHTING, SMALL POWER and WELDING SOCKET INSTALLATION

  1. Confirm lighting fixtures, switches, mains and welding sockets are correct to data sheets, layout and single line drawings.
  2. Check name plate, labelling, ID tags and warning signs correct to drawings / data sheets.
  3. Confirm equipment is properly supported and secure at the correct elevation as per layout drawings and specification.
  4. Confirm gaskets and seals are undamaged.
  5. Confirm mechanical protection/environmental protection is in place, where required, as per layout drawings and specification.
  6. Confirm the cable terminations are correct, neat and tight.
  7. Confirm earthing is installed as per drawings and specification.
  8. Confirm spare entries are plugged as per specification.
  9. Confirm the fuse / MCB rating is specified for the circuit.
  10. Confirm equipment is mechanically sound, undamaged, clean and free from moisture, dust and debris.
  11. Verify Operation of any safety features, e.g. Interlocks, Padlocks and Door Switches.

LIGHTING CIRCUIT

  1. Confirm light fixtures have correct lamp type and rating.
  2. Confirm Battery Units are fitted where specified.
  3. Installation drawings have been ‘Red Lined’ as per the Project Completions Procedure.

SMALL POWER CIRCUIT

  1. Confirm equipment final terminations are correct and supply voltage suitable.
  2. For hazardous area circuits, confirm outlet cannot be energised whilst plug is not engaged.
  3. Installation drawings have been ‘Red Lined’ as per the Project Completions Procedure.

WELDING SOCKETS

  1. Confirm outlet cannot be energised whilst plug is not engaged.
  2. Installation drawings have been “Red Lined” as per the Project Completions Procedure.
