Motor Control Center (MCC) Checklist

  1. Check name plate, labelling, ID tags and warning signs correct to drawings / data sheets.
  2. Confirm correctly located.
  3. Ensure no mechanical damage (including paintwork).
  4. Earth bar and earthing correct, tight and continuity checked.
  5. Holding down arrangement correct and secure, as per project specification.
  6. Busbar alignment and connecting links tight to specified torque. (Record Value _________________)
  7. Phase identification correct.
  8. Instruments, ammeter and voltmeter scales and indication lamps correct.
  9. Confirm internal breaker/door mechanical interlocks correct.
  10. MCCB, contactors, fuses, indication lamps etc. correctly sized and identified.
  11. Confirm isolation locking mechanisms functional.
  12. Confirm busbar/circuit shutter padlocking operation correct.
  13. Check manual operation of selector switch, MCB, push button, etc.
  14. Confirm satisfactory incoming cable condition.
  15. Unused cable entries sealed.
  16. All internal cabling and wiring, correctly installed and undamaged.
  17. Check all cubicle doors can be fully opened without obstruction.
  18. Ensure all busbars are encapsulated as per design.
  19. Check gaskets and seals are not damaged.
  20. Confirm all covers/bolts are of correct type and fitted.
  21. Visually inspect all cubicles to ensure no internal damage, clean and dry.
  22. Ensure all fuse links are correct to drawings.
  23. Ensure all keys are available for panel doors, switches etc.
  24. CTs and VTs correct to drawing and undamaged, including externally mounted.
  25. Heaters correctly installed. Measure & record insulation resistance. (_________________MΩ)
  26. Measure earth path resistance at main earth terminal. (_________________Ω)
  27. Installation drawings have been “Red Lined” as per the Project Completions Procedure.
  28. Check insulation resistance between earth and phases and phases to phases. (Test Voltage _________________V)
  29. Perform Ductor tests across all bolted shipping joints.
